Why Athlete Breathwork?

The answer is stress and anxiety. NCAA athletes have reported elevated rates of mental exhaustion and anxiety as of 2022. A typical day involves athletes waking up and immediately running from class to class, then to practice and team meetings, then home to eat and study, sleep and repeat! This fast-paced lifestyle hardly gives athletes a chance to assess their own well-being and enjoy the moment. Thus, leading to higher amounts of stress and anxiety. No coach wants this for their athletes.

That's why breathwork and mindfulness are the perfect tools to help athletes clear out stress, enhance focus, and improve overall performance. Breathwork allows any team to gain an advantage over their opponents by helping to clear out stress and anxiety, thus allowing players to flow and perform better. After helping athletes clear out these blockages, they can more easily elevate their performance because they are more grounded, focused, and energized to attack their goals.

What do Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Novak Djokic, and Lebron James all have in common? They all practice meditation and mindfulness. Mindfulness practices are another tool that will help strengthen the bond and chemistry of your players. It involves giving athletes new frameworks in which to think, and be able to assess the tough questions with one another. Mindfulness has been proven to help people achieve greater focus towards goals, and work better together with each other.

We grow stronger through difficult times, conversations, and experiences that we have as humans. Our mindfulness techniques aren't hand holding activities in which every athlete is given a trophy and told how great they are. We use our training in order to help athletes think on a deeper level that they may not have before in order to help them strengthen their relationships with themselves, as well as their teammates. This leads to a greater sense of unified purpose amongst teams, and allows them to better understand how collective success is achieved.
